In his final years, Stan Lee worked to get broadcasters to support a Canadian-set TV series about an Indigenous cop with special powers, says a producer who worked with him on the effort.
Kevin Gillis, creator of the animated series The Raccoons, says the show was called Stan Lee’s The Chosen, and it revolved around an Indigenous man who leaves his First Nation for a job as a Toronto police officer. When his father dies, he learns that he’s next in line to get his dad’s powers as a shaman that have been passed down through the ages.
And here’s the really cool part, Lee wanted Winnipeg’s Adam Beach to star.
Even better, even after Lee’s passing, efforts continue to make the series happen.
