Ever been to Yellowstone National Park? It’s an amazing place that took millions of years to form. One of the geyser that is usually quiet erupted in September 2018, spewing water up to 30 feet in the air. Afterwards, park employees made the amazing discovery of garbage. What, garbage?? Yeah, but not just any trash, items dating back to the 1930’s! Stuff like a beer can, a vintage pacifier, a shoe heel and dozens of coins. The pacifier dates back to the 1930s. Also found a cinder-block, a busted bottle, old signs, cigarette butts and an eight-inch drinking straw among the items. Call be naive, but I thought with the heat, stuff like that would just burn up. I guess not.
The park posted a photograph of the “strange” items after last month’s eruption of the geyser called Ear Spring. Old Ear had not experienced a known eruption of that size of since 1957, the United States Geological Survey said, though smaller bursts took place as recently as 2004. Whether these foreign objects were dropped into the geyser accidentally or chucked in on purpose, it’s a bad thing for the geyser.
