Are you trying to eat healthier? Is seems it’s not always our fault for getting it wrong. I came across this and was shocked to see that even the Olive Oil we use, because it’s supposed to better for us, may not actually be what we think it is. According to Easy Recipes, seven of the biggest olive oil makers in US, may mix their stuff with cheaper oils. Apparently, 69% oil sold in the U.S. and U.K stores maybe fake as its could have been cut with cheaper oils like Canola and Sunflower oil!
University of California did a study a few years back of 124 imported brands of extra virgin olive oil and discovered many of the samples didn’t pass the test.
Brands that failed:
Carapelli, Mazola, Primadonna, Colavita, Sasso, Antica Badia, Star, Whole Foods, Felippo Berio, Safeway, Coricelli, Bertolli
Brands that passed:
Lucero, McEvoy Ranch Organic, Corto Olive, Omaggio, Bariani Olive oil, California Olive Ranch, Lucini, Ottavio, Cobram Estate, Olea Estates and Kirkland Organic.
