She had become pregnant with Sean after their reunion.
A New York judge had just reversed Lennon’s deportation order, allowing him to continue to live and work in the U.S.
Tonight, John Lennon was at new York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel to perform at an all-star tribute concert – taped for TV telecast later – called A Salute to Sir Lew Grade: The Master Showman.
Of course, no one knew it at the time, but it would be the final time Lennon would perform in front of an audience.
