It’s no secret this city, this province is ready to party… whiteout style!! If you can’t get into the Bell MTS Place, the city is hosting their first Whiteout Street Party on Wednesday (April 11) as our Winnipeg Jets start up their playoff series against the Minnesota Wild.
You can’t have a big party, without a few street closures and traffic reroutes, so here’s what to expect on Wednesday:
As far as road closures, SB Donald Street between Portage and Graham Avenues will be closed from 12 p.m. (noon) Wednesday (11) to 1 a.m. Thursday. As a result of this, the Donald Street entrance to the Millennium Library Parkade will not be accessible during those hours. All vehicles will need to enter through Smith Street.
Traffic reroutes include: Winnipeg Transit buses will be rerouted off Graham from Carlton to Smith Streets starting at 6 p.m. and ending at 11 p.m. Bus stops along EB Graham between Hargrave and Smith Streets will temporarily be relocated to NB Smith at Graham. Bus stops along WB Graham between Smith and Edmonton Streets will be temporarily relocated to St. Mary Avenue at Hargrave Street and to Edmonton at Graham. The Handi-Transit loading zone on southbound Donald at Graham will temporarily be relocated to eastbound Portage next to the Radisson.
