Hospital ch-ch-ch-ch-changes next week.
Yup, October is here, so…
Monday, October 2 at 8 p.m., Urgent care centre at Misericordia Health Centre closes.
Tuesday, October 3 at 8am, Victoria Hospital ER becomes an urgent care centre. Also, the hospital’s Mature Women’s Health Centre will close and patients will be shifted to Health Sciences Centre.
** Emergency services will be located at Grace Hospital, St. Boniface Hospital, Health Sciences Centre, Concordia Hospital and Seven Oaks General Hospital.
And, oh ya! There’s more. Still to come; conversions of the emergency department at Seven Oaks Hospital (urgent care centre) and the closure of Concordia Hospital’s emerg room.
Something to keep in mind also, is that ambulance travel time may increase. That was the word from paramedics at a news conference.
Maybe 5-to-10-minute increases. But experts also expect fewer patients will need to be transferred between hospitals.
