Mind blown. I can’t even count how many times I’ve used Sally Hansen products and never gave it a second thought to as to who Sally was.
To be honest I didn’t think it was a real person, just a brand. According to Sally Hansen parent company, Coty Inc., “Who is Sally Hansen?” was amongst the most searched inquiries on the internet in 2016. Some believed that she was a myth and that her namesake brand was based on a fictional woman! Well, apparently Ms. Hansen was real and amazing for her time.
For example, she was extremely progressive for her era, choosing to become an entrepreneur over family, which was almost unheard of for a woman. In 1957, she trademarked “Hard As Nails” – the original strengthening treatment that is still one of the brand’s best sellers.
Jeremy Lowenstein, the vice president of global marketing at Sally Hansen, says he felt compelled to research Sally and learn more about her life. In the end he and journalists uncovered her… literally. Fascinating! Read more HERE.
