I get the big-time heebie-jeebies from spiders. They just creep. me. out.
If they are quick skitterers, I imagine them running up my arm and into my mouth before I have time to react (it’s an irrational fear, remember?).
If they’re slow, I feel like they’re trying to sneak up on me for pretty much the same reason. And if they’re just sitting there…looking at me, I feel like they’re trying to decide to do one or the other…or maybe some other horror that I haven’t imagined, yet.
So how come this video doesn’t bother me?! The spider is huge. It’s moving slowly. Also, it’s on her face!!
Yet, for some reason, I don’t get the gollywoggles from this. Is it the fact that he’s colourful? Maybe.
My best guess right now is that he’s not hairy/furry. I’m thinking that it might be the fact that the furry ones look like a mammal…and it trips my brain out when a mammal has too many legs.
Do spiders creep you out? Does this one not? If not, what’s your theory as to why that is?
