The EARTH, has been around for awhile obviously, but when was Earth Day conceived? It was back in 1970. Bell bottoms, long hair, no deodorant and classic rock. That’s when it started. Festivals, rallies and outdoor events are held in nearly 200 countries these days. The very first event for Earth Day, which was held nearly five decades ago following a devastating oil spill which is now credited as the beginning of the modern environmental movement. Now it is coordinated globally by the non-profit Earth Day Network and it’s described as “the largest secular holiday in the world”. There’s a pile of stuff going on in the city tomorrow to take part in! The FORKS is offering ECO-TOURS, (40 of them throughout the day) Downtown Biz is is also doing a clean-up, and of course there’s always Fort Whyte! Here are the links to these Earth Day events! Have fun!
