If I *had* to choose a genre of film that I like best, it would probably be history/fact-based films, for the same reason that non-fiction is my favourite reading: truth is stranger than fiction…and because these things happened, they seem more relevant to me.
I love it when they come to the coda or credit roll of a fact-based movie, and they show photos of the people and places that were recreated in the movie.
Some movies recreate the people, clothing, locations and moments better than others, and you can chalk these up in the former category.
Some of them are just remarkable.
