As a born, bred and life-long Winnipegger who is lucky enough to have a family cabin in Whiteshell cottage country, I don’t need any convincing about the stunning beauty that Manitoba has to offer.
Still, surprises abound. I have to admit that I haven’t yet ventured further north than Hecla Island, and I know I’m missing something (so far).
I had never heard of Little Limestone Lake – at the northern tip of Lake Winnipeg – prior to this week, when Ottawa announced its intention to make it Manitoba’s third National Park (after Riding Mountain and Wapusk, along the shores of Hudson Bay).
Absolutely stunning, and great news for Manitoba conservation.
I’m adding it to the list I’m so far behind on.
