On the air the other day I mentioned seeing a woman fall on the sidewalk. She went down hard. Out of the corner of my eye I could see she knew she had to get up, even though it was painful to do so. The wind was howling and didn’t care if she was struggling to get back on her feet. I didn’t laugh because, yup I’ve been there. I remember one time I lost my footing so fast I didn’t know what happened! That’s kind of what happened to me yesterday. I was picking up the mail and before I knew it as I was getting into my SUV I stepped on a patch of ice just right and down I went. I was able to catch myself from sliding under the vehicle but not in time to not bang up my knees. Ouch. Then of course after using some sort of “Chuck Norris” style ninja move to save myself, I ended up kinking up my neck and back. So needless to say I’m a hurting unit at work today. Hopefully you were able to stay on your feet this week, if not, I promise not to laugh. A Winnipegger knows about “ice karma”. It’s just a matter of time until it comes around. Stay vertical my friends.
