I had the best of intentions. I even had a plan. But then…
Knowing how important breakfast is, I normally I fire up the metabolism engine like clockwork every day…oatmeal, a banana, maybe a hard-boiled egg or some fresh avocado.
Today, my wife and I had a meeting with our financial planner, so I made the appointment for late morning, and we planned to do lunch at a favourite deli before I came to work; my plan was a healthy sandwich and maybe soup.
The plan was going really well until it went from paper to practice.
First off, I got a late start, so I had to skip brekky first thing. Then, the meeting ran long, so lunch was off, but I came running into work knowing I’d be able to muddle through with the CLIFF Bar and almonds that I always keep on hand just in case. Not ideal, but still good to go.
Here’s where the plan really goes off the rails. I arrive at work, and our buddies at Tim Hortons have dropped off boxes of muffins and cookies. Now I’ve been worn down…
I grab one of each and bring them into the studio, and as I put them down, I realise that I’ve gone from planning a healthy breakfast to start the day and a healthy lunch with my wife, to using a cookie as a plate for my muffin.
I may or may not be on my second round of these.
Also, I’m weak.
