Phil Hartman will be best remembered for his comedic acting roles. His characters on Saturday Night Live were legendary, and his 52 episodes of voice work for The Simpsons provided the world with Troy McClure among other classic characters. But did you know that he also designed album covers?
Hartman graduated with a degree in graphic arts from Cal State Northridge in 1974 and went on to design over 40 classic album covers for bands like America and Poco. He also designed the Celtic style logo for Crosby, Stills & Nash and he even won a Grammy Award in 1978 for Poco’s 1974 album ‘Seven’.
